Black Lizard Forest is a collection of 32 poems published by the British Druid Order in 1997.

Air and Water

The light in his eyes
Was what filled her
In the sunshine they shone
Such rich earth and deep sea
All the colours of the ash tree
In the midsummer forest
In the dark night when the moonlight
Flickered on her soul
His eyes were aflame with her
His stormy obsession

And loving her, holding her
He took to the skies
Soaring out over meadows
Riding east on the wind
Air rushing through him
Quelling his fear that he'd lose her
Holding her tight
She couldn't look done
As he climbed and dived
Just hanging on
She barely breathed
Gazing into his eyes
Till breathless too long
So faint and rage rising
She had to let go, gasping
And fleeing, running west
Tripping, scrambled for the hills
Where the life of the streams
Tumbled sparkling in her veins
Where cold waterfalls cleansed her
Deep in green valleys, moss soft and
Sunlight dancing, flickering
Like the fire of her power
Starlight on still water
The fire that had raged
In the winds of his passion

But she found no peace alone
Numb with the pain, broken
Not from falling but life
Half lived without him
And shivering she bore her world
Dreaming of his love
The light in his eyes

As he dreamed of the fire
That had lit up his soul
The memory of which
Shines still, blinding him
in each flowing tear.
